Translation is the written process of transferring a text from a source language into a target language.
A good translation ensures that the translated (target) text performs the same function and conveys the same meaning or message as its original (source) text.
When handling your document, our translators begin by taking into account the general purpose of the text, its style and register before breaking down each sentence and word in order to make sure that these elements are mirrored in their translation.
Working with mother-tongue translators only means that a translation performed from French into English, for example, will be carried out by a native English speaker with an in-depth knowledge of both French language and culture. When undertaking a translation, our translators draw on general translation rules, norms and conventions in their language pairs and subject fields, applying their skills to the obstacles, challenges and subtleties encountered when transferring material from one language to another.
All translations are checked for accuracy, spelling, grammar and consistency by translators once they have finished translating. INT-TRA is happy to use glossaries supplied by clients, or to build glossaries as required.
