Some countries may share the same language, such as the UK and the US, but the language varies both linguistically and culturally.
Whether clients wish to communicate appropriately with employees in a particular country or export their brand and market their products and services more effectively, it is primordial that they use the correct language.
Localisation either means choosing the right target language to translate into in the first place, or amending an existing text or translation into one of its derivative languages in order to communicate appropriately with the audience in the chosen country.
When localising your text from one variant of a language to another, the material will carefully be analysed to set aside text and areas that apply to both and to identify material that requires modification in order to convey the right message.
Some language variations to look out for are: Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Austrian, Swiss German, Swiss Italian and Flemish. (See our FAQs for a list of the languages we work with.)
