What type of materials do we translate?
INT-TRA Solutions can handle all kinds of documents, including technical documents such as instruction manuals and reports, business materials including annual reports and accounts, as well as more marketing oriented products such as brochures and web-sites.
Which subject areas do we translate? A to Z list
INT-TRA Solutions works exclusively with responsible translators, who only accept projects that fall within their fields of expertise and that they are confident of completing to an excellent standard on time.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of the subject fields and areas we cover.
What tools do our translators use?
Machine translations
INT-TRA Solutions does not use machine translations. The results of a machine translation must always be checked carefully by a linguist and therefore generally prove more time-consuming than a translation undertaken from scratch by a “live” translator.
Translation memory (TM)
Some software has proven its worth in the translation world: translation memory software is particularly useful in the translation of large technical documents with a highly repetitive content such as product specification templates.
Translation memory programs store segments of a text along with the corresponding translation. The translator therefore has a memory of translated text at his or her fingertips. This ensures consistency, saves time for the translator and saves money for our clients.
Concordancing software
Another useful tool for translators is concordancing software, which enables a text to be analysed to identify the recurrence of key words and phrases, thus helping in the production of a glossary.
The World Wide Web
Used with care, the Internet can prove a valuable ally in the search for an elusive term complementing traditional and technical dictionaries, particularly for new or rare terminology or abbreviations. The Internet also provides a means to access authoritative terminology and vocabulary banks, to keep up-to-date with relevant industry news and to exchange advice on professional forums.
